New email 📧 - who this? (formerly Bread & Rose Work Club)
ISSUE 019
This is Connections, the weekly newsletter for community and network builders who know that relationships are the key to everything—real results and real revenue all from building rapport.
Hey! Just a quick reminder—I’m Lauren, previously the author of Bread & Rose Work Club, now rebranded to Connections the Letter. After thoughtful consideration, I realized that the future of work is in people. Look around, and there are many Ai newsletters. We aim to be the alter-ego here, where we focus on the parts we love about AI (productivity, profit, efficiency), but apply them to the connection realm.
That said, the content you see will be evolving—and I need your input! Over the last few weeks of December, I’ll be asking a poll a week to revamp for 2025.
⭐️ Which type of content do you find MOST useful? ⭐️(This poll is LIVE so you can see results after voting!) |
Also, check out that new domain we’re emailing you from 😎

🖥️ MEET YOUR NEXT BEST CONNECTOR
This week I found someone who may be the next best connector in your life.
Well, maybe not someone—something?
Meet Boardy.ai, an Ai assistant that listens to your needs and connects you with the perfect collaborator, investor, or client. The voice is so real, you’ll forget it’s Ai.
I got on a call with Boardy, who has an Australian male accent, and it repeated back info on my LinkedIn profile. But the call was so lifelike, that I gave it even more information about myself (including the rebrand pivot), and it connected me with more people I would not have considered otherwise.
The downside? It recommended someone I already knew well (Patrick McCrann) and only managed to suggest 3 new connections. Right now, the database feels limited, and it needs more users like us to unlock its full potential.
Message Boardy on LinkedIn today to claim a spot in their database and unlock doors to more relationships.

💬 CONVERSATION STARTER OF THE WEEK
Where you get an experimental IRL prompt for human conversations.
The Zoom call starts, and someone says, “Can everyone hear me?” or “How’s the weather?” Cue the collective sigh.
How about try this instead:
"If you could work from anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?"
Why it works:
Sparks creativity and imagination—instantly engaging everyone.
Reveals personality and preferences—making the conversation more personal.
Creates energy and sets a positive tone for the call—encouraging others to share openly.
The secret to great conversations is all in how you start. ✨
📚 CONNECTIONS IN HISTORY
Where we share a powerful connection that changed the world.
Steve Wozniak (L) and Steve Jobs (R) in 1975
Jobs had the vision; Wozniak had the engineering brilliance. Together, they turned a garage project into Apple, revolutionizing technology and design forever.
Proof that the right connection can change the world.
So who’s your Wozniak (or Jobs)?
